In 1983, Caryn introduced the Healthline Directory of Participating Providers, providing her direct phone number as a means for people to reach out to a Patient Advocate for assistance in finding doctors and navigating their health plans. This innovative approach demonstrated her commitment to supporting individuals in their healthcare journeys.
A decade later, Caryn embarked on a new venture by creating a physician-owned HMO. Through this endeavor, she gained extensive expertise in health reform and regulatory issues, solidifying her position as a recognized authority in the field. Understanding the increasing need for patient support within managed health systems, Caryn founded GetHealthHelp, LLC.
Today, Caryn’s clientele primarily consists of successful older adults, many of whom live alone and are navigating the challenges associated with chronic or debilitating health conditions. Her unwavering dedication to their well-being has led her to assemble a team of exceptional support people who work alongside her. Caryn’s many appearances and upcoming book features the remarkable stories of her clients, shining a light on their journeys while showcasing the transformative impact of understanding that when they say that nothing can be done, that just means that they don’t know what to do.
